At the Christchurch meeting in 1873 he ran second tc the celebrated Lurline in the Canterbury Cup, 2\ miles, in 4m. Bs., carrying 7st. 21bs., as a three-year-old. Lurline, 4yrs., Bst. Vlbs. ; Tambourini, 9st. 6lbs. ; Malvina, Bst. 9lbs. ; and Templeton, 7st. 2lbs., also ran. Papapa won the Christchurch J'erby in 2m. 44£s. beating Castaway (own brother to Lurline), Templeton, and Traitor. At Auckland won the Auckland Turf Club Cup, with 7st. Blbs., 2 miles, in 3m. 455. Yatterina, 7st. 121 bs., second. Parawanui, Hatred, and I'hick Ea»le also ran.
