The rest of tho cargo comprised 80,000 feet of timber consisting of pieces intended especially for tue construction of tallow vats, and was consigned to the Meat Preserving Company of Kockhampton. The committee of the Agricultural and Pastoral Association upheld Haydon's protest against the Lyttelton Times Company's ten guinea prize for bacon shown by bona fide farmers being given to the School of Agriculture. The prize was not awarded. THe protest of Booth, Macdonald and Co. ugainst P. and D. Duncan in the implement classes was not sustained.
