A Brutal Assault

A case of cowardly and ruffianly assanlt by a man upon a little boy about 10 years of age has been brought under our notice by the parents of the latter. It appears some pigs belonging to the former had frequently been found on the boy's father's paddock, and doing considerable damage. The boy had driven them out on to the road. The man laid wait for him, and, not satisfied with belaboring the little fellow with a supplejack, set * ferocious dog upon him, which bit him, £ and tore his clothes to pieces. 3*he marks on thr child's body have been shown to us. We forbear to mention names, as the case is to be put into the hands of the polioe authorities.
