The proposed Company will be formed tor the purpose of taking over the well-known established andg-oinjr business concerns of Messrs Lowers, Loudon, Thompson, and Hayliittle, General Storekeepers, as now carried on at Feilding, and to continue and extend die same under the pro visions of " The Companies Act, 1882." It is proposed to divide th^ businesses into three separate Departments — one to consist of Drapery, Clothin-r, and Boots, one of Ironmongery, Hardware, China and Glcss, and the other of Groceries and Provisions. This arrangement will avoid the necessity of j keeping on hand duplicate and triplicate supplies of stock as done at the present time by the proprietors of the several businesses n«\v proposed to be taken overThe stock in trade, working plant, and live stock in connection with ihe several businesses at the time of the j formation of the Company will be taken over at a valuation. The premises now in the uccupation of Messrs Loudon, Lewers and Thompson will be leased by the Company for a term of years, and the stock divided and kept in separate departments as above. Messrs Loudon and Haybittle have offfrod their services as managers of two » f the departments and the third >\ill be filled by a manager as soon as a competent man can be obtain d, and in the meantime provision will be made for the man a^ement of this department. An agreement has been entered into da r ed the Ist day ot October, 1883, between Messrs Loudon, Lewers, Thompson, and Haybittle as vendors, and the Provisional Directors as purchasers for the sale and purchase of the good will and stocks of the several businesses of the vendors. With the proposed capital the Company will be in a position to make all their purchases tor CASH, thereby obtaining the trade discount. With the support of a numerous body of .shareholders as customers the directors have every reason to hope that the business of" the Company will far exceed that at present done by the four establishments which it is now [iroposed to take over. ihe Company will also be in a position to import all thoir wares ami goods direct from the best manuhtcturies iii England and elsewhere, thereby saving the importers' charges and profits, and other trade expensed. 'Jh« purchase and export of produce will also form part of the business of the Company, and it is considered that a large profit will be made trom this source also. The liability is limited to the amount of the shares taken.
