Makino Butter Factory
We are glad to find that an attempt is to be made to start a Butter Factory at Makino, or at any rate the affair is to be thoroughly discussed, at a pnblio meeting to be held at the Makino Scho-dhouse oa Friday evening next, as will be seen by advertisement. Mr Corpe, who displayed great interest in the late proposed Feilding Cheese and Butter Factory Company, and who, after the scheme fell throng-. at the shareholders' meeting on Thursday last, suggested a Butter Factory only, will attend, as well as others who are qualified to give practical information on the subject, and we hope that settlers in_, goodly numbers will respond to the invitation to be present. Makinoifces generally are progressive in their movements, and the district is so admirably adapted for dairy purposes, and a Butter Factory being practicable even where the larger project might not be so. we see no reason why one should not he at once started in that flourishing suburb. The matter is ! at any rate worthy bf being fully discussed by all interested, and we hope to see a large meeting of the settlers alone the Makino road at the Schoolhouse on Friday night at 7 o'clock.
