Two rival petitions have been prepared : and forwarded to the Postmaster-General , on the question us to whether the said j post ufiiee box, or pilkr, should be situated sit the Boroujih Council offices or ut a comer of Grey street. The signatures to both documents hrve been obtained with the utiiiost rnutiou >i;i<i secrecy, 'iml it was only after they had been ported j that we discovered such petition* had j been in circulation. We are at a lons to } understand why. publicity was fe.jred oa i both sides. As the matter was definitely J settled some days ago, the petitions will be valueless.
