Lecture at Sanson

« Mr W..E. Patten of Feildinc delivered a very interesting lecture in the school [house last evening under the auspices of the Sancton Blue Ribbon Society. The title of the lecture was " Alcohol and its Properties," aod was illustrated with views ghown by the soiopticon lantern, the instrument being a new one just imported from Home by Mr Patten. Other illus-

trations wera given by some cuemical experiments of a very instructive and interesting nature. Some very good flinging was rendered by the choir, assisted by some of the choir from Feilding. The chair wag occupied by the Jiev. W. Workr. There was a capital attendance and th« audience was a most appreciative one. Mis§ Wrisley presided at the piano. Mr Ralph, of Feilding, gave a recitatioi which was well received. A hearty vote of thenks to the lecturer, &c., brought a very pleasant entertainment to a close.
