MELBOURNE WOOL SALES.

beuteb's telegrams. Melboubne, October 19. The N.Z.L. & M.A. Company held their opening wool sale for tiie sea-on today. There was a crowded attendance of home and foreign buyers. The catalogue comprised 2,130 bales, of which all but 25 were sold. The competition was very brisk, and the prices realised very satisfactory to growers. Greasy wools sold up to 12£ d, and scoured to 19-fd. Owing to the considerable improvement which has been manifested in the last London aii vices, tbe pfospects for the Melbourne sales are exceedingly good, and it is known that extensive buying orders are to hand.
