[PER UNITED PBE3S ASSOCIATION.] D7NXPIH, This Day. The prisoner Tait, irho vra- discharged yesterday by Mr Watt, R.M , for insubordinate conduct, was brought before trro Justices at the Police Court to-day, for having preferred a false r.ed frivolous complaint against a vrarder. JEe was defended by counsel, who submitted that, these complaints having been made as a defence to the charge of tho day before, could not be regarded as " gratuitous and voluntary" within the meaning of the Act. The Bench took off 180 marks from the prisoner, equal to 30 days from hia term of remission.
