. 4. HEAVY PENALTY. Aropeta. a chief advanced in years, was found guilty yesterday morning, before Mr Ward, R M., at the Wanganui Court, of obstructing the surrey, at Murimotu. The accused waß proceeded against for two offences, and fined £25 and costs in each ease, wiHi the alternative of four mouths' imprisonment in the Wanganui gaol. The money not being forthcoming, Aropeta was lodged in " durance ville."
