At the resident Magistrate's Court today Captain Smith.of the Salvation Army, and T Grahnm, a tailor, and a mob orator on Freethought, were charged with committing a breach of the peace in the Market Reserve on Sunday afternoon. Graham baring mounted a waggon used by the other party as a pulpit, was haranguing the crowd on " Morality," whea the army approached, md contention arose between the two defendants as to the possession of the waggon, culminating in Smith hurling Graham down repeatedly. Eridence was heard on both sides, afiording considerable amusement to the dense crowd that thronged the Court. Tne Bench inflicted a fine of £1 and costs on each defendent.
