It lias been ascertained that the repor that Parnell had been shot at was alto gether unfounded. The Rev, Shaw was accorded a publi< reception to-day at Exeter Hall on bii return from Madagascar. Tuere was . very large attendance of sympathiser} and the general p'li h lie. Mr Shaw «aye . length narrative of the treatment he received at the hands' of the French navai authorities, showing he had been subjected to .considerable ill usage on shore anc on board the war ship which took him tc Reunion. The London Press are unanimous in urging Mr. Shaw to demand froir the French Government reparation fortlu treatment received. "~" *
