CORRESPONDENCE.

% Cheese and Butter Factory. TO THB HUTOB OF THE STAB. Sir,— l am given to understand by notice that at a public meeting to be held on the sth of October, it is intended to elect a permanent directory for the Cheese and Butler Factory Company, which is now, at last, to bean established fact, and as one who is glad that it is so, I do not wish it to be thought I am in any way trying to mar the progress of the thing, but as a shareholder in the concern I do obiect to a permanent directory being elected. Ido not say that ltwilj be, but, in electing at the first set off, a. permanent directory, we may get those in that we cannot get out aga n, and the thing may fall to the ground, with a very great expense upon the shareholders.^ My idea of ji directory is to elect a directorate, and let so many go out after the first year, but let them be e'igihie for re-election, and in such a case we shall always be able to have men that the shareholders can piit confidence in. There is a rumor current that it is proposed to strike off all those who have only taken two shares, aud not allow them to have a voice in the matter. If there is any truth in the rumor, I think it is a piece of injustice to begin with, and should it be even hinted at at the meeting, I for one will draw out of it. Hoping the shareholders will consider the matter of the election of a directorate between this and tbe time fixed for the meeting, and come with their minds made up on the question, I subscribe myself Shabeholdeb. No. 2. Makino, September 26, 1883.
