Dismissal of Mr. Foulis.
The meeting of the Board held on Tucs- ] day in Wanganui was one that will be either for good or for evil —the most momentous that has yet been held by that body. The motion of Mr Snelson, notice of which had been given at tho previous meeting of the Board, to the | effect that " Three months' notice from the Ist October be given to Mr FouLisof the termination of his appointment, und that immediate steps be taken by the Board to obtain a successor to the office," was, after a long discussion and an attempt to amend the damnatory resolution, finally passed, Messrs Sanson, Bakeb, Beidge, Taplin, and SirWM. Fox voting for it, and Messrs Cabson, Ross, and the Chairman against it. Mr Snelson left the room prior to his motion being put.
