Special to " Star." TWO CHIEFS SENTENCED T(> DEATH. SEEIOUS EXPLOSION. beutek's tklhueams. London. September 22. A proclamation has been issued by the Irish Executive, declaring certain parts of the counties of Mayo, Clare, and Limerick to bo disturbed districts. The furce of constabulary now stationed there has been found to be insufficient to preserve order, and is to be strengthened. Hadkid Sept. 21. An official denial has been given to the reports that have recently been current here to the effect that King Alfonso, who is now on a visit to the German Emperor, is -taking advantage of his presence at the German Court to bring about an alliancejbetween the two countries, Eeceived Sept. 25. 11.30 a.m. Capetown. September 24. Intelligence has been received from the Transvaal that the native chiefs Vfapoch and Viainpoer, leaders of the rebellion against the Boers in the early part of this year and who were subsequently made prisoners, have been tried at Pretoria and sentenced to death. London, September 24. A serious explosion occurred to-day at the Eccket Factory, Woolwich. Hundreds of rockets were discharged in all directions, many flying into the streets and causing great havoc to houses and other property. Two persons died from injury received by fie explosion.
