CORRESPONDENCE.
♦ School Frizes. TO THE "SDITOB OF THE STAB. Sib.,— Kindly allow me to keep to the fore the matter of prizes for tne youngsters attending the. Feilding Public School. If no ono else will take the matter in hand, I would recommend the School Committee to meet specially for the purpose of seeing what can be done. The Feilding scholars are not behind those of any of tbe neighboring school districts in the nutters of punctuality, progress, and other qualities supposed to merit a litt c acknowledgment as well as encouragement, and yet, while the latter are getting these little tokens of approval, onr own are being, so far, left out in the cold. I deem it a very important thing that we should give every possible inducement to the rising generation to make advancement in learning and in general good conduct, and we all know, from experienoe, that n othing pleases a child more than some substantial sign that bis behaviour and progress are appreciated. I sincerely hope that somthing will yet be done, and that Feilding will not be outdone by her Makino-road daughter in this desirable mattar. — I am, &C, t Phii*o.
