At the inquest on Belle! ia Feeney, found dead in Priest's Bath, Ohinemutu, the verdict was "found dead." The jury added a rider that the medical officer ought not to absent himself from Ohinemutu without appointing a competent person to take his place and to attend to iuvalids atUmding Government Baths. A case came before the Resident i Magistrate's Conrt to-day in which Mr Wright, proprietor of the Australian and Americin Directory, sued a customer for £2 2s, price of the work. !he defence was that the information in the work ; had been collected in 1879, thus render - i ing the directory com p.-. rati rely useless, and that a false label bearing the date 1 1883-84 has been pasted over the figures 1882, originally printed on the cover. The Resident Magistrate said that the thing was a gross deceit, and gave judgment for the defendant. The Fenstanton's frozen meat was sent to a number of the provincial towBS in England, as well as sold in London, with ; most satisfactory results. The average prices were :— Cross-bred wethera, 6?d perlb; half sheep, 7fd per lb ; meri o, 6_d per lb ; ewes, 6£d per lb. The lambs brought Bd/ Timartt, This Day. A child, 14 montht old, son of Mr Fraser, hotelkeeper at Albury, was drowned this morning in a water bole. Gbbtmouth, This Day. John Flannagan, a native of County Clare, died m the Hospital here ; aged 99. Arrangements are being made by the supporters of the Land League here to present an address of welcome to Messrs Redmond and Waish when they ar.-ive, and banquet them on the evening the lecture will be held.
