Australian best beef. 40s ; best mutton, 41s. i Melboubnx, September 18. The Melbourne manager of the National Mortgage & Agency Company of iS'ew Zealand (liimted), reports of the local grain market as follows: — Shipping wheat. 4s 1' d to 4s lid, market quieter ; barley, 5s to 6s, market depressed. New Zealand oats in fair demand at 2s lid to 3s 2d for feeding, and 3s 2d to 3s 3d for milling sorts. New Zealand oats under bond, 2s 2d to 2s 4d. At the wool sale to-day 9,200 bales \ were offered. No material change was experienced, but the market is, if anything, weaker. Fleece and scoured wools are j now one-halfpenny lower than at the close of last auctions.
