skuteh's telegeams. Paeis, September 12. The latest reports from Tonquin claim that the French troops have carried the principal positions occupied by the Annamese al the point of the bayonet. London. Sept. 14. Lord Dufferin has been recalled to Stamboul by the Bulgarian difficulty. All the mortgages on Mr Parnell's Irish estates have been paid off by public subscription. The report that Lord Lyons was recalled proves incorrect. The French army has only met with with doubtful success in Annam, and now awaits reinforcements. Disturbances have occurred in Woochang. Robert Knox, one of the leaders of the Presbyterian Council, is dead. Priuce Bismarck is recovering. Received Sept. 18. 0.55 a.m. London, September 17. Nothing further transpired regarding the negotiations which are still proceeding for the settlement of the FrancoChinese difficulty in Tonquin. After their interview with Earl Granville, Marquis Tseng and M. Waddington left Wal'raer Castle for Paris, for the purpose, it is believed, of carrying on negotiations on the basis suggested by the British Minister for Foreign Affairs.
