Child Murder Case. SUDDEN DEATH.
[PEB UKITED PBESB ASSOCIATION. J Haweba, This Day. The case of alleged child muider was again gone into to-day. No further evidence of importance was forthcoming. The Bench was of opinion that there was strong circumstantial evidence, but not sufficient to commit. The oharge was dismissed. A man named Rowland fell down dead at the Manawapou railway contract last night. He had come from Wanganui, where it is said that he had been under a doctor. Inquest to-day.
News has been received from Canton that a Chinese mob, incensed hy the accidental drowning of a Chinese tout who attempted to board, the steamship Hankow, set fire to and deifroyed several hoii.ea.oa the wharf.' ' .
