leaseholders' Qualification
The -Hon. Mr Dick, has introduced a Bill into the House entitled the Leaseholders' .Qualification, of which the following is the principal clause:— Every
. . ...v. '•'■ man of the ago of twenty onc^y ears and upwards, having a leasehold.- estate iv possession, situate within any electoral district for the election of a member or members of the House of Representatives, of tho clear annual value of ten pounds, held upon a lease which at the time of registration shall have not less than three years to run, or, having a leasehold so situate and of such value as aforesaid of which he has been in pos-. session for one year or upwards at the the time of such registration, and not being registered in respect of any other qualification for the same district, shall not be entitled to be registered under " The Registration of Electors Act, 1879," and to vote at tbe election of mem tiers of the House of Representatives.
