In the anti-Jewish riot which took place at Ekaterinoslav, Southern Russia, last week, 100 persons were killed or wounded. The number of deaths, from cholera among the British soldiers stationed in Egypt numbered 117 in a fortnight. Capetown-, August 9. It is now reported that Cetewayo escaped to the reserved territory in Zululand, and is still at large. Received August 11, 11 .20 a.m. Madeid, August 9' The insurrectionary movement in the army is spreading in the province of Catalonia. News is now to hand-that the garrison at Sco-dc- x igel is in a state of revolt, and a force of loyal troops has been dispatched to the scene. Latest intelligence received from Logrone reports that the garrison in that town has submitted to the force dispatched against them. London, August 10. . The trial of two men Deasly and Flannagan — who were arrested in Liverpool in March last, with dynamite in tlieir possession, concluded to-day. Both prisoners were found guilty, and sentenced to penal servitude for life. A man/named O'Herlihy (sic), charged witli'having beenau accomplice of Deasly and Flannagan, was acquitted. The latest news from Madagascar states that the French garrison at i'amatave are threatened with famine. Ihe Hovas refuse to supply the troops with any provisions.
