.» Wednesday, August 7th, 1883. (Before R. Ward, Esq.. R.M.) •civil cases. J. R. Harper v Ah Hing. — Claim for £8 7s 6d for rent. Mr Prior appeared for plaintiff. The case was adjourned till next Court day, as it was reported that defendant had filed. J. Robinson v J. Laing. — Claim for £8 10s for wages. Mr Prior for defendant. Judgment by consent, to be paid at £2 per month. J. E. Nathan and J. Smith r Thomas Cameron. — Claim for £34 Qs 2d for goods supplied and delivered. Mr Prior appeared for the plaintiffs, who are trustees in the estate of John Tompkins, now represented by J. A.. Tompkins aR their attorney. Mr Esam appeared for the defendant. • J. A. Tompkins went carefnlly through the book's of the estate, and gave evidence as to the claim. He was closely cross-examined as to several entries in the books. 'No other witnesses were examined on /either side. Mr Esam addressed the court at some length, after which judgment was given for the plaintiffs for £24 10s 4d, with costs £3, and counsels' fees £2 2s, total £29 12s 4d. i One case was struck out. as neither J /party appeared,' nnd several others were A settled put of Court. The Court then adjourned.
