A petition was preiented from Bunny « thorpe settlers, calling attention to the unpassable state of the BnnnythorpeOroua road, and asking the County to do something in the matter of putting the road into a proper state for traffic. Cr Engels moved, That the Chairman and Crs Douglas and Sly be appointed a committee re the adjustment of accounts between the Oroua and Manawatu County Councils. Mr Sly thought the committee ought to be a fully representative one, and suggested that his own name be struck off, and the names of Crs Skerman, Linton ad Walker be'added. Some conversation ensued as to the most convenient place for the Council to hold its meetings, some members contending for Feilding and others for Palmerston. Crs Mcßeth and Linton thought Feilding the most central place. Crs Engels and Waiker thought Palmerston would be the most convenient so far as the railway time table was concerned. The Chairman said he would nut argut the point, as, personally, he was quite indifferent where the meeting was held, but still he thought Feilding would suit the greater number, at the same time he hoped there would be no necessitj' io fix a permanent place of meeting. Cr Douglas then moved and Cr Linton seconded, That the Council meet again at the office of the Manchester Road Board, on Friday, August 10th, at 10 a.m. This was carried unanimously.
