The diseases it is infected with are mentioned as small-pox, cholera and measles. At the Supreme Court the action against Sir Arthur Gordon was continued. Hunt, the plaintiff, was under examination all day. When the Court adjourned he was still in the box. Chbistchubch, This Day. Two rounds of the Waterloo Cup event were got through. Forty-seven courses (six undecided) were run in about four hours. The trials were excellent, with the exception of one or two, but most of the hares were killed. Many of the favorites have run, and are out of it. Auckland, This Day. The Frozen Meat and Storage Company have agreed with the directors of Fisher and Company, Limited, to purchase their business plant and property, &c., with the view of amalgamating the two businesses. The terms have not transpired. At a sale of rural lands to-day, at the Crown Lands Office, prices ruled high. The upset prices were frequently doubled and trebled.
