Manchester Road Board Elections.
The j^qiqjniUon of, .candidates for elections "as Wardens of the Manchester Road Board took place at 12 o'clock yesterdajSJ; ftt the office of Messrs Halcombe and Sherwill. . The following was the result : — No 1 Ward, no candidate. No 2 Ward, Mr H. P. Jones; nominators, Messrs Macarthur and !R. Linton. No 3 Ward, Mr B, Linton; nominators, Messrs H. P. Jones and Macarthur. No 4 Ward, MeU Macarthur ; nominators, j Messrs Pope and W. Baker. No 5 Ward, Mr W. L. Bailey; nominators, Messrs Macarthur and W* A»Jj. Bailey. No 6 Ward, Mr Macarthur; nominators, Messrs 0. Ward* 'and B- Tremewan. There being no opposition, Mr Sherwill, the 'Jteturning Officer, declared the above gentlemen duly "elected to act from the 27th instant. We are informed by Mr Macarthur that he will choose at the next meeting, which of the two Wards for which, he has been elected he will represent. Thus, two seats will still remain vacant, for which nominations will have to be made.
