A Peculiar Elopement.
A peculiar case of elopement and robbery has been brought under the notice ot the police at Adelaide. A man named Corrisran eloped from London with a married woman named Mary Mullins, and they arrived in the steamer John Klder. The lady paid the fares for themselves and for Corrigan's son, who accompanied them. Since the arrival of the couple they have resided in Adelaide as man and wife. While they were drinking in an hotel recently Corrigan snatched th<) change from the counter and hurried away, promising to return in a few minutes. As he failed to do so, Mullins went home, discovered that Corrij-an had decamped with ihe boy and all her clothes, jewellery, and persoual effects. He also took away her cash, amounting to £150. The police were communicated with, and Corrigan was arrested in the mail coach -at Mount Barker- Corrigan has been com- i mitted for trial for larceny from a dwelling. — Fxchange. . I
