The English Government have intimated to the promoters of the second Suez Canal that they will insist, as a condition of allowing the work 1.0 be undertaken, :that there' shall be a considerable reduction in the charges, and an increase 6t control exercised by the English Government. Huge preparations are being made in Germany to celebrated c four hundredth anniversary of Martin Luther's birth, which occurred in November 1483. Other cases of a similar character are also reported, and the police are making inquiries. A major in the Russian Army stationed at Moscow, has been banished to Siberia for having publicly expressed an opinion in favor of certain social reforms being necessary in Russia.
