Kiwitea Road Board.

The first monthly meeting of the newly elected Board was held in Mr Goodbehere's office yesterday afternoon. Present—Wardens Taylor, Paries and Wil- " liamson. Warden Taylor was appointed Chairman of the Board. The minutes of thelast ordinary meeting were read and confirmed. The following correspondence was read — From the Commissioner of Education, Wellington, enclosing cheque of 14s as re* fund to the Board for payment for clearing trees from the Education reserre atKiwitea; from Public Works office, acknowledging application for loan under part 2 of the Roads, and Bridges Construction Act, and stating that the same . would be considered with other applications before the 30th inst. Resolved, on the motion of Warden. Williamson, seoonded by Warden Davies, That the clerk be instructed to have an advertisement inserted giving notice that a rate of fd in the £ on the rateable value of the Kiwitea Road District will be struck on the 3rd day of July next at a special meeting to be held in Peilding at 12, noon, for that purpose. Several alterations were made in the names on the. valuation roll. Several accounts to the total amount of £12 6s 7d were passed for payment. The Board then adjourned.
