The Ball on Thursday.
•— We would again remind those of our readers who would fain finish up their holiday pleasures on Her Majesty's birthday in a very on joy able manner, especially those who are fond of tripping the light fantastic toe " of the ball "to come off on Thursday evening next. As during the past few months Terpsichore' h'as^macie a good unmber of proseelytes in and around Feilding, and as many of these are anxious for an opportunity of a skip ou the smooth and spacious floor of the Town Hall for the first time, there is sure to be a large attendance not only of these, but also of many .other older devotees of the popular goddess. The charge for admission is such as to suit' all parties, while the object of the proceeds, viz to aid the Makino Brass Band is a wortlry one, and deserves every encouragement. We should mention that some good music will be provided by the string contingent of the band, "while the full band, whioh we understand intends to appeaV in town on that day for the first time, will probably play a few selections, concluding with the national anthem. As a further attraction to visitors the promoters 'Care arranged for a very amusing negro sketch, which will be introduced' at an interval of the ball. , r • •.
