Fire at Wellington.
I [PEB UNITED PBESS ASSOCIATION. I Wellington, This Day. A fire broke out last night in J. and H. Barber's boiling down works, and slaughter yards, at Ngahauranga, which, along with the plant, was completely destroyed. About ten tons of tallow was also destroyed. Nothing but the boilers are left standing, and it was with great difficulty that Tver's fellmongery was saved. The origin of the fire is unknown, but it is supposed that a spark was blown out from a fire under one of the vats. The premises were insured in the National and South British, but amounts are not yet known.
