Dreadful Fatality at Wanganui.

On Saturday afternoon a painful sensation was caused in Wanganui b? the fact of ftjittle child having been accidentally shot by its feither. Mr W. Turkwood, the lundbrdof the lied Lion Hotel at Campbelltown was engaged in shooting Some common house pigeons, and whilst in the act of discharging a breech-loadiug fowling piece; his little son, a fine lad of between six and seven years of age, acci 'dentally ran within range of the shot, and received the contents, of the gun fairly in the front of his body.. He cried out lustily for his fatheJ, and ran some distance before he fell, and on being taken into the hotel he died in about 20 minutes. Dr Tripe was immediately in attendance, land on examination it was found that the body was perfectly riddled with *hots. The poor little fellow was a bright intelligent scholar at the Infant School, which, he has attended for the past two years, and was a great favorite •with all who knew him. The anguish of the parents, and the grief of the brothers and sisters is intense, and as the family are highly respected they have the profound sympathy of a host of personal Ifriends in this terrible affliction.
