Sandon Farmers' Club.

The first Root and Grain Show of this Society took place yesterday in the Schoolhouse. Sandon, the attendance ot visitors being large. The arrangements for this the first effort ofthe Society were very creditable, and reflected much credit on the president (Mr Tomlinson), and the •committeemen, who all worked hard to secure a fair display of products of their fertile and prosperous district. A large amount ot interest was evidently taken in the Show, judging -by the number of exhibitors. *J'he- show of wheat yesterday was really splendid, the samples of grain being all that could be desired; th€ yield in certain instances was wonderfully heavy and prolific. The judges did th*ir work to everybody's satisfaction and were entertained at luncheon in the Sandon Hotel, the president of the Society taking the chair. Several speeches were made, -and ••-' Success to the Show" was drunk with acclammation.
