A new Masonic Lodge under the Scotttish Constitution is to be opened at Palmerston North on Thursday, 26th instant. It is to be named the ManaTvat* Kilwinning, and amon* its founders -•are several well-known members of the -craft hailing from Southern, West Coast, aad Wellingtoa lodges, but aow residents in Palmerston. The dispensation for •opening the new lodge has been granted %y the Provincial Grand lodge of the North Island of New Zeahind, and a <ooq_n-is_k>n has been issued by the W.R. P.G.M . the Hon F. Whitaker, to Bro E. T Gillon, P.M., authorising him to mmtt aa Deputy Provincial Grand Master, and to consecrate and open the new lodge. Several well-renown brethren from Wellington •■ w^lf-brobably attend j tha e'eremony, which is likely to be an imposing one. The United Manawatu Lodge, E.C. at Palmerston, has in every "way assisted the founders of the sister lodge in their laudable efforts to establish the new lodge, und both lodges will meet in the handsome Masonic Hall belonging to the United Manawatu LodgePost.
