Methodist Tea Meeting.

A united tea meeting was held on last Monday evening at Campbelltown by tho members of the Wesleyan and .Primitive Methodist congregations belonging to the place. Avery sumptuous tea was provided, and a great number assembled. including several from a distance, to partake of the many good tilings provided. Tea being over and Ihe seals io the school house re-adiusied, a very large audience packed the building to hear tbe service of song entitled " Eva," the musical part of which was rendered by a small choir improvised from members of bdtE 'denominations and led by Mrs Douglas. Considering the smallness of thie choir, and the fact that they had bad scarify one united practice previous to the occasion, they quitted themselves" admirably their being scarcely a failure or faltering all through the piece. The connective I readings were given by the Rev. Mr i Worker, whose clear and distinct nunoi- } ation made them very effective. The chairmanship was filled .by the Her. J. I Clover, who opened the meeting by singing and prayer, and a very short speech, in which he expressed his pleasure at seeing su.h hearty enthusiasm displayed, and the spirit of untity acted out, which might be taken as one of lh« many instances in which the formal and final union of Methodism was sufficiently shadowed forth. Besides the above, three recitations were faiily rendered by the young people. A vote of thanks to the tea-makers, singers and other helpers, and one to the school committee being carried, the benediction brought the meeting to a close. :
