Murder of a Chinaman.
[PEB UNITED PREBS ASSOCIATION.] Donedin, This Day. The following further particulars are to bunu of the murder of Ah Chin, a Chinaman, near Teviot. Deceased .■md the informant, Wan Rie, were in a cave on the bank of the Clutha River. They were, smoking opium about 7pm on the 15th inst. Wan Rie fell asleep, and was aroused by the report of a gun, when deceased called out "I am shot ; lam dying." On the police visiting the scene they found deceased dead, with small-shot wounds in his right breast and head. The cave was not disturbed, nnd money and a watch were foimd on the deceased's person. An inqu.st will be held on Saturday.
