ROBBING A BANK.
[PEB UNITED PBESS ASSOCIATION.] Nelson, This Day. Francis James Hodgson, formerly teller at the Nelson branch of the National Bank, was charged at tho Police Court with the larceny of 600 sorereigns, belonging to the bank. Mr Blaok, the manager, stated that the money was missed in 1881, but there was no proof until October last. Tho accused admitted having received from him a bag containing 1000 sovoroigna in error for one of 500. Tho accusod also said ho planted 300 soveteigns in Christohnroh, and speculated with the roniaiuder in hopes to repay the whole. He was committed for trial. Bail was allowed, himself in £500, and two sureties Of £250 each.
