In connection with the recent poisoning case at Kaitangata, the Star to-night says the tart was analysed at Balclutha and found to contain alum. Inquiries show that Miss Mcl'ormiek Cooked the tart herself, cut it, and laid it on the table. It is believed she placed the alum in the tart herself, and feigned illness with a view of eliciting sympathy from a young man who was present.
