It has transpired that the police today succeeded in surprising a Nihilist rendezvous, where a large number of members of a secret society were assembled. A severe struggle took place, but ultimately eight persons were arrested, one of whom, however, committed suicide while in the bands of the police. A ouantity of dynamite was also seized on the premises. London, April 1. The Hon Mr Pack vill c- West has published a statement denying the truth of the statement that he brought to the notice of the American Government the seditious character of the language used by Irish Americans. Prince Bismark is suffering from a severe attack of bronchitis.
