YANKEE EDITORS.
* Ben* Goodkindof the Williams Review : makes this frank confession : "The editor of this paper was sent to a., yery good school at Frankfort on the Main, Ger j many, and after staying there three years I and learning algebra, gebmetery, Latin. , Greek, French, German, botany, astronomy, trigonometry, philosophy and other ' splendid branches of study, returned to America a much bigger and vainer ass than when he left it. Had he been sent to' a good public school it would have been ten thousand times belter foi him." He probably finds that Greek, German and trigonometry stand him in little stead in editing a paper in the goose-land regions of Colusa county. A three years' course of bull-whacking on the plains would have placed him more en rapport with his readers. -
