There was immense traffic yesterdny on. the trains, and railways and harbor steamers ..were crowded with excursionists. As one of the favorite resorts, Balmoral jetty, when covered with people, collapsed, and numbers were precipated into the water, but were all speedily rescued.

Mr Robert Graham and Colonel Fraser, • ayor of the Thames, waited on lhe Minister of: Public Works and the Minister of Lands this morning, as a deputation from . the Thames Valley Railway Company, their object being to secure a promise from the Government of certain lands under the Railway Construction Act. Ministers were unwilling to give any pledges. The deputation then undertook to put their requirements in writing, a further interview to take place after Ministers have considered them. •
