KIWITEA HIGHWAY BOARD.
■• The ordinary monthly meeting of the Board was held at the Manchester Board office yesterday. Present — Wardens Taylor <in the chair), Bryee, Davies, McKenzie, and Williamson. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The following correspondence was read ; — From the Treasury Department re deferred payment money due to the Board. From rhe Secretary of the Education Board re removing fallen timber from road line; referring the Board to the School Commissioners at Wellington. From Wanganui Harbor Roard requesting farther information, re proposed coad. From the Commissioner of Crown Lands re map of Kiwitea district. From tke Colonial Secretary returning ♦racing. A deputation waited upon the Board re the tipper portion of Mackay's Line ■which, they stated to be impassable, and suggesting that a. deviation be made in the same. , Mr Phyn was informed if he obtained the written consent of all the parties interested the Board would consider the '<«natter. Mr Paul waited upon the Board to sreqnest permission to fall a road line. Resolved, oa the motion of Warden Williamson, seconded by Warden Bryce, That Mr Paul be authorised to fall the road line opposite section 188, the price mot to eweed £2 peraere, to be paid when Ith at ward is in funds. Resolved, on the motion of Warden Williamson, seconded by Warden Bryce, That the Manchestet Road Board be asked if they ate willing to join the Waituna ward of Kiwitea. Board in applying for money to oonstract Shannon's line under tke Road and Bridges Construction Act. Resolved, -cm. tbe notion of Warden Taylor, seconded by Warden Bryce. That the first catting on Perry's Line, •off Kimbolton Road, be laid off by the Engineer, and an estimate given for cost thereof at next meeting. Eesolved, on the motion o€ Warden WilKamson, seconded by Warden Mackenzie, Tihat as soon as the sanction of the Crown Lands Commissioner be obtained for the expenditure, the Engineer be at once instructed to lay off the necessary work, and call for tenders. Resolved, on the motion of Warden Bryce, seconded by Warden Williamson, That Mr Bryce be empowered to expend A sum not exceeding £4/ in repairing bridges on road leading to properties of Messrs McKenzie and R. Meßeth. The meeting then adjourned till Monday, 16th April."
