Since that time Mrs Gramatica has been gaining a, living by washing, but bus not borne a very good reputation, The son Frank died six 'jfar eig'lit months ago, and the only surviving child, a little girL, has been kindly taken charge of by Mrs Williams, of Lyell... About fire years ago Mr and Mrs Graniatica lost a daughter, a fine giiTof 34 or 45, Ada by name, who was drowned before their eyes. She was returning home from the kelson Convent school, and, with another person, while crossing, the river^ opposite Xyell, in a "chair," the rope broke, precipitating them into the boiling stream beneathBoth wete drowned.
