Shaw, of Wellington, is anxious to contest the election, but nothing certain is yet known. All parties are looking forward to tiie announcement by the Speaker of the receipt of Mr Weston's resignation. Lat«r. Mr Edward Shaw, of the firm of Brandon, Shaw, and Brandon, formerly warden at Reefton, and afterwards a district judge here, has accepted a requisition from Inangahua to contest that seat in the House. Mr Richard Reeves has retired in his favor.
