TE WHITI AT PARIHAKA. MORE MEETINGS TO BE HELD. [PER VSIIF.V PRESS ASSOCIATION.] .New Plymouth, This Day. Parihaka'w*s almost deserted whenTe Whiti arrived, the majority of the natives being engaged at work in the bush. As soon as the news reached them, however, they lost no time in assembling at Parihaka, and greeting tlie chief with songs of welcome. A number of niggers were assembled this morning at Parihaka from various directions, and it is stated that a laree meeting will be held on the 18th of this month. Te Whiti's regular aonual meeting day, for the purpose of inaugurating the nieetiog again, when representatives of all the tribes in the district u,re <to be invited. Px-tea, This Day. About 100 natives from Waitotara. , Kai Iwi and Pakaraka. passed through Tatea oe their way to visit the natives or the Waimate Pllains. The chief Uru te Angina iveeompanied the party. S&nrnel Black and E. Holmes, working in a gravel pit up the river yesterday, were buried by a fall of earth. The former had several ribs broken and his back injured. Holmes was knocked insensible into the river but was .rescued ! by a man passing in a canoe. •
