As it was, it Avas a most • fortunate escape, and Mr Cooper and hisj family had to take refuge for the'hight' at the residence of Mr Nortndn. Mr 1 Cooper is otherwise a considerable loser'r by the rising of the Kiwitea, some of his! fellmdhgery apparatus having been clean! washed away. (
