bbutbb's telegrams. London, February 22. The total reserve in the Bank of England in notes and bullion is £14,000,000, being an increase of £700,000 as compared with last week. The bank rate of discount remains at 3£ per cent, and market rate at 3£ per cent. New Zealand securities -remain at last quotations. The tallow and wheat markets are unchanged. Hides are steady at last sale prices.
Chbistchibch. February 23. Flour is quoted at £10 to £10 15s per I ton;- nnd onimeal at £15 per ton. Oats — I Samples offering are of really fine quality,
and 2s (f.0.b.) are the ruling rates. For barley the prices offered are 3s 9d to 4--Bd, but maltsters are holding aloof. Cheese is quoted at od to 6£d per lb.; butter (fresh), 9d to 9jd. Hams and bacon in cloth, 7id to B£d ; potatoes, £3 to £3 5s per Ion; onions, Id to 2d per lb. Hye grass seed at 3a to 33 3d; cocksfoot, 3fd.
