COMMERCIAL.
HALCOMBE AND SHERWILL'S STOCK SALE. Messrs Halcombe and SherwiU held a sale of stock at Feilding on Monday last. The attendance at the sale was rather poor. The following prices were realized :— Beef, £7 ; cows (fat) £4 17s 6d ; fat sheep, 7s to 10s ; ewes, } 7s to 9s 9d ; 900 sheep were quitted.

of .the former having been poured in the market from New Zpaland and Australian ports, with tlie result of quite overstocking the market. Considerable quantities of fowls' wheat have been sold at rates varying from 3s to 3s 6d per bushel. Maize is rather low in stock, and a small shipment would realize 4s to 4s 3d. Other lines are unchanged, with the exception of cheese, which has reduced to 6|d, and onions fully supplied at £7 to £7 10s.
