Australia from San Francisco, via Auckland. The vessel was ordered into quarantine , on arrival, an infant on board having: been attacked with sickness, the nature i of which is doubtful. The case was this morning pronounced to be chicken pox, . •and the Australia has been granted pratique. Melbourne, This Day. ■ At Beaufort, last night, Mr Francis Longmore addressed a largely attended meetmg of electors. He was accorded an enthusiastic reception, people rising! en masse, and singing the National ' Anthem. Mr C. H. Pearson addressed a large; meeting ofthe electors at Brunswick last night, and in course of his speech declared that be would support a Coalition' Ministry, under the leadership of Messrs Graiham Bocry and James Service, but he declined to give any support to Sir Bryan O'Loghlen. Adelaide, This Day. Two men were drowned yesterday while yachting in Vincent Gulf.
