MANCHESTER HIGHWAY BOARD.

The usual monthly meeting of the above was held in the Board's office, Miftdieiter-street, on Saturday afternoon. Present — Wardens Macarthur, (chairman), Loudon, Bartholomew and Bailey. The minutes of fhe previous meeting were read and confirmed. A fetter was read from Mr Williamson stating that the settlers ia the Kiwitea Block were willing to contribute £25 towards improving the road between Mr Wilson's and Mr Shannon's properties, if the Board would contribute a like amount Resolved, bn the motion of Warden Bailey^ seconded by Warden Bartholomew, That the Board meetoa the first Saturday- in every month at 10 a.m. Resolved,. That the Engineer make an estimate of the cost of "stumping and cleaving Wilson's line, and report at next meeting. A letter was read from Mr Anderson, r« Hendersou's line, asking the Board to do a portion of the work. Front Mr Hoe. re public meeting to consider the advisableness of abolishing the county or otherwise. The following tenders were received :— Stanway Road (at per yard)— T- Smith, -4s; J}. Younger aad A. Laing, 3s sd ; Berhendt,** 3d; Maaagb.2»lUd. The tender of Maaagh was accepted. Cemetery Roai-T- Smith, £90 195; Berhendt, £97 IBa-6d; J- Aitkeu, £96 18s ; A. Diamond, £84 10s; D. Younger aad A. Xaing £8t 18s; J. Cummings, £110 ss. The tender 'of A. Diamond was accepted. Aorangi Road — Berhendt, £35; J. Aitken, £26 ss; A. Diamond, £45; T. Smith, £28; »■ Younger, £22 19s 6d. The tender of D, Tounger was accepted. Accounts amounting to £93 8s fid were passed for pnyment. Theßeacd then adjourned.
